  I like Dr. Rapp, for the most part. He has a great personality and he took me on when many others wouldn't. (My husband's insurance didn't take effect until I was about 7 months, so I was on Medicaid for the bulk of my pregnancy, out of sheer necessity.) I had a tough pregnancy, due to my age and PCOS-related obesity. I was referred to a Maternal-Fetal Specialist that was a complete and utterly unprofessional jerk to me, both times I was in his office. When I asked the specialist questions, he got condescending and then discharged me. Dr. Rapp's nurse called me and griped me out about it, knowing that the guy has a horrible reputation and that I had untreated hypertension. Due to my husband's schedule, I had to reschedule my well woman exam a few times, and finally was able to make it in, last Monday...to be told that within 20 minutes of my phone call that morning, a staff member had supposedly called and left a voicemail on my phone. There was no missed call or voicemail on my phone from anyone at that office. According to the office staff, it's because of my phone, which is odd, since I've had no problem finding voicemails from other people who called. The doctor had to leave early to deliver a baby. Ok. No problem. While I was there, last week, I decided to reschedule for today and fill out my paperwork, to save time for today's appointment. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I was running 10 minutes late, so I called. The same nurse told them I couldn't be squeezed in. She was allowing for the time for me to fill out paperwork, and was firm. Ok. I could have told her that, if she hadn't decided to lecture me on why she had made the decision to have me reschedule. Since I had asked for the office manager, I really didn't appreciate having someone else pick up the phone to talk down to me. No one needs that in there life, especially not me. I do find it interesting that she picked up the phone after I asked for the office manager. I had a variety of topics to address with her, so it seemed a little weirdly defensive. I waited a full two years to even mention the whole gripe session phone call where the nurse basically threatened to have me discharged from Dr. Rapp's service two months shy of my due date, when I had done NOTHING wrong. I wouldn't even have mentioned it here, but would have just told the office manager, after today's treatment...but the office manager didn't call me or my husband, who was also on the phone, back. So, while Dr. Rapp is a nice man and took great care of me during my pregnancy and c-section (and recovery), I cannot recommend his practice due the nursing and clerical staff. For his sake, I overlooked past issues with various staff members, like being told endometriosis doesn't hurt, being harassed for a $20 balance after a miscarriage, and being told that my original appointment for my annual had been cancelled (then finding out it wasn't, when I finally called to take care of the balance.) Oddly enough, I got THAT voicemail. Again, I like Dr. Rapp, and I initially liked his nurse. I even forgave her for castigating me over the stupid jerkhole doctor, which was completely unprofessional, but today was way too much. There are other doctors and I am no longer limited by Medicaid. I would say I'm sorry for a negative review but many bad reviews involve the staff, more so than the doctors, themselves. Maybe some customer service training could help.
